Punjab Mukhyamantri Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana: Monthly Aid for Women Rolls Out

The Punjab government launched the Mukhyamantri Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana (also called Maa-Beti Samman Yojana) providing monthly financial support to women — ₹1,000 for general category and ₹1,500 for SC category women. Announced on International Women's Day (March 8, 2026) in the state budget, registration commenced on April 13, 2026, initially in 9 pilot constituencies. The scheme covers all women aged 18 and above who are permanent residents of Punjab. First payments are expected from July 2026, with a total budget of ₹9,300 crore sanctioned for FY 2026-27.
